Colossians Intro | Philosophy and Legalism

The Greeks had their thinking and debates. The Jews had their law and order. These two opposite groups found themselves mixed together in the church in Colossae – and, though Christians, both were still heavily influenced by their culture. So there were problems in both directions, to the left and to the right. Through Paul, imprisoned in Rome, the Holy Spirit brings both systems of thought under the obedience of Christ.

Colossians 1-2 | Living in Christ; Christ in us

In our recent videos we've often seen that we are in Christ – but Christ in us? This video takes you from Greek philosophy all the way down to the ocean floor, reminds you who really is the head of the body, and finally asks whether all this is even possible while still here on earth.

Colossians 3-4 | The Practical Life of a Believer

Paul said a Christian should not be an ostrich. In Colossians 3 he writes, in rapid succession, to set your minds on things that are above and to seek the things that are above. So clearly we shouldn't have our heads buried in earthly things – but what does that mean practically, and how can we live heavenly while still physically here on earth? This video answers these questions.
